The Day After The Day Before

Postby Boop on April 21, 2008, 4:41 pm

Yesterday I rode approx 250 miles with a 2 hour stop in between. When i got to the R&C I was freezing, thirsty and was beginning to stiffen up. My journey home was horrendous. It was dark, wet and even colder. My legs had locked, my arms had locked and my hands had locked with the freezing cold. The rain was stinging against my face cos I ride with an open faced helmet and my arse was completely numb. The fag stops were becoming more frequent as was putting my gloves against a hot engine to help get the warmth into my fingertips. I was running out of petrol but couldnt even be bothered to stop cos I was too fed up in trying to get my limbs to work. I really wanted to get home.
When I got home and after countless cups of tea and a hot shower I managed to get to sleep at about 2am cos I was still so cold (need a hot water bottle) and I got up at 6 to got to work.

But guess what???

I AINT COMPLAINING!!!!

Why did I do this?

Because yesterday is going to go down as one of those days that I will remember for a long time to come. I wanted to be able to say that I was there and although I had to go before you all left for the parade I spent a fantastic couple of hours with people who I can only describe as 'simply the best'...

It was so good to see some of my old mates from the 'dark side' hahaha, the new friends from the 1066mcc that I had met just before Christmas and some more who I met for the first time yesterday.

THANK YOU so much for making me feel so welcome - you are all a really fantastic bunch and it feels good for me to be able to say it.
I would not of done this if it wasn't for the people who were going to be at my destination and it just proves (in my book) that it doesn't matter where you come from and it doesn't matter what you ride us bikers are a great bunch !!!

A really big thank you once again - a day I shall not forget (especially the bastard who nearly smacked me by the M42 junction) !!!!

Oh and thank you Lady Boop for keeping me safe and getting me to and from home...

Ride safe all

Love Boop xxxxxx

Hi Boop..Lost for words really..But I'll have a go...It goes to say without a doubt that Boop & Kev must either be mad or so in love with us to make a journey in those conditions to meet with us. You are indeed both stars in me eyes. Hope those big mugs of tea helped you to defrost at the R&C :D Good to hear you got back safe & well :D
